Is this a fuel injected model? 85 was a mixed year . you could get a carb. or a throttle body or a MPI. Wich is yours?

Gasoline engines need three things to run, fuel, air, and spark. Do you hear the fuel pump running from the outside of the vehicle for a couple of seconds when you turn the key to the on position? Check your fuses, on electronic fuel injection systems the engine won't run if the engine computer has no power. Spark: Take a spark plug out, connect the wire back to the plug, hold the threaded part against the engine block (hold this by the insulator, not the plug, you might get a bit of a shock) and see if there is a spark. Otherwise, just unplug one of the plug wires (either on the plug or the distributor), and hold it a small distance (1/4 inch to 1/8 inch) from where it was when connected and see if you can hear arcing. Air : Check your air filter /intake ducting for restriction preventing air from going in the engine.

I have put these in the most common order of solutions to a no start on a gas engine. From there, you can figure out which component is missing, whether gas, spark, or air, and go from there.

If you have sheared the pin on the distributer gear, it will still spin but will be completely out of time. Might catch in the right place every now and then and fire but for how long is the question. Check the timing, After you've checked for gas and spark. I've only seen a problem with not getting enough air once and it didn't stop it from starting. Some critter built a nest in the intake.

My 1993 lx mustang will trun over but will not start. gets gas got fire, what next?

If it has fuel, spark and compression it has to fire even if it won't start did it jump timing? the belt or timing chain it would still backfire. Have a fire extinguisher
handy After you crank the engine put a rag over the schrader valve and push the pin down like on a bike tire gas will shoot into the rag if it doesn't you are not getting fuel. pick up an inline spark checker and see if it sparks every time the engine cranks over

Engine wont turn over on my gv 2006

The 1st thing i need to do is clarify what you mean by "won't trun over" do you mean the starter motor spins the engine and it will not fire up or that the starter doesn't trun the engine over? If the starter doesn't turn the engine over do you hear a clicking coming from the starter solenoid when this happens? If so replace the starter solenoid the heavy electrical contacts are burned.

Wont start but cranks

There's only two reasons a car won't start if it cranks over okay...no fire to the plugs or no fuel, check to see which it is and go from there.

this is probley the code you wold get.
you can trun the key on your car for 10 to 20 min.s do not try to start it. then trun it off then try to start it and see if that fixes it.
as far as the abs it has to do with the brakes.
