Yes its both, your ignition in that year had problems they had to reposition the ECM and it had alot of ICM failure, with a key in igition problem, There no saturn dealer, so GM dealer are your only source, 2004 Saturn was declared a lemon due to transmission failure, and ICM failures rates
also I had my brakes done about 2 months ago, and now my ABS light is on.. Also my TC light is on! (I know the sensor had been broken but it used to only come on when the car was in reverse.) but now both lights are on all the time.
Thank u so much for ur advice!! Will the ignition be a costly fix?
When the ABS light comes on TC follow and turns off ,who ever done the brakes where not carefull about the vehicle a your ABS light is related to the repair, they may have moved the ABS sensor, or interrupted the toner wheel, the ignition is not costly a mobile locksmith can handle it, Saturn blames fast lube for not using proper transmission fluid in the transmission, There was a ECM update that Saturn had to do it was to reposition the ECM from under the battery tray, so that should be taken are of, Your transmission is the most expensive unit and also the ICM why it always requires a reflash, Dont push you vehicle it can last very well. Take care of the ABS when you did the brake job the brake pads need to seat the sensor got contaminated and is being interfered with, a good wipe down on the sensor should restore it, its 75.00 for a key repair for a mobil locksmith
