2001 pontiac sunfire turn signals

The turn signals seem to not work somtimes it will turn on then with the switch still on it will shut off

    I have 2001 sunfire and the turn signal lever in On position it will work and sometimes it will stop on its own and also start working again also. its erratic

Hi,

you can try your emergency flasher switch and make sure its completely off, sometimes that switch will interfere with turn signal operation, just an idea

What you can do is when it is acting up wiggle the hazard switch and see if it starts to work or stops working.These have been known to cause problems with the turn signals.If it does make a difference then then replace the hazard switch.This is part of the button that you push to put on the hazards/Hope this helps.Good luck.

you may have a flasher problem,,turn signal on & try to locate signal flasher ,,, replace it,,if problem is still there after,,signal switch mite need to be replaced,,hoped it helped
