Question about GMC Canyon

1 Answer

The gas tank on my 2008 GMC Canyon with only 2100 miles just 'blew apart' at the seams. I had only been driving 7 miles on the way home from work, when it blew. Anyone heard of this?

It's an 08 model. if this happens to alot of people they will do a recall. i would call your dealer and let them know what happend so it can be fixed. from the sounds of it it is a workmanship problem and should be covered by the manufactor and should be replaced free.

2006 Canyon showing starts and shows REDUCE POWER

Are you ready? Check your gas cap. Or You may have not tightened your filler hose and it is allowing air in. If the tank was dropped, then the filler was removed and reinstalled. Check all connections.

Truck dies, acts like it is getting to much fuel, used a quarter tank of gas in 8 miles

Clogged Gas Filter

Worn out & Blocked Exhaust Converter

Bad Ground at Fuel Pump

The different gas gauge readings would indicate a ground
issue with the sending unit in the fuel tank & possibly the
fuel pump shares the same ground or it is worn out.

I would check fuel pressure with a gauge & the fuel may be
there, but not enough volume

A fuel pump can last 4 years or 18 years
