Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
The vehicle has a loss of power at high speeds. i can't hear the turbo like i use to. is it possible it has stopped working? is this common?
Sounds like a possible problem with your diverter valve - check that out. If you have the 180hp engine (which I believe you do), you can replace it with the diverter out of an Audi TT 225hp model (it's called an n710 valve), and it's able to handle higher output than your stock valve. The stock valve has a plastic diaphragm that can fail. The Audi valve I mentioned also has a plastic diaphragm, but it's beefier and less likely to fail on your car.
