Question about Chevrolet C1500
Could be a number of things, the most common one would be a leak somewhere in the system. It is designed not to run when the refrigerant charge is lower than a preset amount. A simple check would be to check for blown fuses related to the A/C (e.g. Refrigerant compressor clutch fuse). Other than that you probably will have to bring your vehicle to a shop that services A/C systems for a thorough diagnosis.
