Question about 1999 Nissan Maxima

2 Answers

I just bought a 1997 nissan maxima. It will not start. I took it to the mechanic I have used for years. He doesn't specialize in Nissans. He said That the relay from the BSM module is not getting the signal. He could not fix it.

What is a BSM module?? Do you mean ECM??/computer?? Chek all fuses. There is a ECCS fuse in fuse box, which powers up the relay for the ECM /computer circuit. Does the "service engine soon" light come on, when key is in ACC position?? Post result.Let me know what you find.

The bucket seats from the 1995 Nissan Pathfinder should be an exact fit. The bolt holes and bolts should be the exact same and have the exact same hole locations.

if your chain becomes loose it will become very noisy and should be replaced since most nissans are interference engines which means lots of money for a new engine

1991 Nissan Maxima has trouble starting on cold mornings. Once started in the morning, it usually has no problems starting throughout the rest of the day.

Probably the o-rings for the injectors are leaking-this will cause fuel under pressure to leak into a static cylinder, when you try to start it the plug is wet with fuel and the car will be difficult to start. They are pretty easy to replace on early 90's Nissans.

Forget what things do.
Your vehicle has never been properly diagnosed.
You need to find a local repair shop that works on a lot of Nissans and is up to speed on current technology.
To start with a stalling issues and go to a cam sensor, trans, etc, tells me that you haven't found mechanics with the necessary skills to repair todays high tech vehicles.

1989 nissan maxima electriw windows and power seat belts stopped working . is there a relay for tis? Where is it located?

behind the driver side door panels, there will be a amplifier for the windows, in some cases, like mine, it only affects 1 window. get a new one. nissan uses the same one for alot of different cars so its easy to find. dont let a mechanic tell you its the window regulator. nissans are known for this problem. for the seat belts, replace the motor, they are cheap and an easy fix.

You do need an alternator. Nissan has a campaign on Maxima alternator in certain years such as 96-98 I believe. Go to your friendly Nissan dealer abd have them punch your VIN number into the NNA net. they will know and that will tell them if your vehicle applies by the VIN. I have seen the alternator on fire. There was fire inside of the alternator. Have it checked or the car can catch on fire.

All R134a connectors are the same. There is a high and low connector, these are different sizes. You either have the wrong "charger" kiit (possibly for R12) or are using it incorrectly.
