(less then quarter turn). when backing up the front bake lock up when peddle is applied hard. when u shift transfer case into 4 wheel the clicking changes to a squeeck. (lick wet rubber on steel) im not sure were this clicking is or could be coming from. all fluid leves are good?

Check the disk brake pads. At slower speeds you can hear them squeak because there is less wind and road noise. The other possibility could be a bad u joint at the ends of the axle half shafts on the front differential. Check both. I really doubt it is the transfer case. You transfer case is engaged all the time. The axle is locked and engaged when you flip the lever by a vacuum motor on the axle shaft on the differential.
you may have had something fall down into the defrost vent and it has worked its way down and is blocking the air flow thats trying to come out the vents, near the blower motor.also does it sound like the blower motor is spinning on high speed or at a lower speed, you could have a slow turning blower motor.
Have you checked that the speedo and the rev counter still give steady readings, if you can notice a slight "judder " on either then that is where the noise is coming from. Must be one or the other is speed related.
This noise is more likely caused by the iiner constant velocity joint. When turning the axle makes a franction of an angle in which no perpendicular to the ground. You'll gonna need to have it check as there is a possiblity that the wheel drum or axle assembly might come off when driving in high speed to avoid accident.
The on the fly 4WD in the Cherokee is engaged inside the front axle. If for some reason it doesn't fully engage, it produces a clicking sound until it either fully engages or disengages.
If that clicking you are hearing gets more rapid as you increase speed, slows down when you do, then that's what it is.
A vacuum leak is the likely problem, easy to fix, difficult to find. I have a Cherokee. I had the same problem. Start checking vacuum lines that lead under the engine to an actuator attached to the front axle.
