Most likely the wiper motor quit working on you. This is very common on the Escorts and Probes.

The wiper motor is located next to the brake booster towards the center of the engine compartment on the upper part of the firewall. It has 2 plugs on it.

Find the hot and ground wires, remove the plug to the motor and use jumper wires to ground and add power to it and see if it works.

Most probable cause is a nut which is right under the plastic cover at the base of the wiper arm. It may have come loose. It usually is a 12 or 14 mm. You can carefully lift from the bottom end of the wiper, the plastic cover and it will come off. There you will find the nut. Make sure the engine is off and the wiper switch was in the off position before you shut the motor off. Tighten the nut. You will see the base of the arm tilt a little downward as it seats. Snug it up tight (with one hand using a standard length wrench like Craftsman). Try the wiper. Odds are it will work. If it doesn't, the problem is with the wiper transmission which is below the grille you see at the base of the windshield. That repair should be left to a professional.

Wippers stopped working out of the blue. It is not the fuse. Wippers move when physically moved with hand and do not stop where they are suppose to. There is very little or no friction when doing this. to...

You probably blew a motor, if you have acces to a voltage meter, remove the contacts, turn the wiper switch on and make sure you are getting voltage. If you are, then have the wiper motor checked.

Windshield Wipper switch will not turn off, 2005 Trailblazer

There was a recall on the wiper circuit board cracking and causing the problems your having and at worst the wipers not working. For now you can pull the fuse to the wipers to save the wiper blades, but the problem is the circuit board where the wire harness clips on to the wiper motor cracks and will need to be re-soldered. You can check with the dealer to see if your wiper motor is still covered with the campaign a few years ago, if not you can buy the replacement circuit board at most larger auto parts store like Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to get the job done. A light tap to the electric motor where the wire harness will also fix this problem, but it really needs to be re-soldered or replaced. Good luck
