98 Chev Lumina LTZ

My car is doing this jerking thing when you give it gas. The check engine and anti lock light come on randomly and the volt light came on once. Advance Auto said the code was P0300. Random/Multiple cylinder misfire detected. Can you tell me what this means?

I have had the same issue..

I solved it by replacing the Manafold Air Pressure sensor, and the Mass Air Flow sensors, has not had a problem since.

The parts are fairly easy to replace yourself if you are mechanically inclined, however if you do not feel comfortable in doing this work yourself, take it to the shop.

My dad had the same issue on his Buick, and after the factory replaced coil packs, plugs and wires, they finally decided to change out the MAP sensor and that fixed it for him.

Similar thing happened to my 98 Lumina last winter.
Only my "Service Engine Soon" light came on and would flash while trying to go up a big hill.
It was a misfire in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th cylinders.
About $600 to get it fixed.

Is there a low fuel light for my 1998 lumina?

The 98 lumina LTZ has No light on dash for low fuel, there is not an indicator for low fuel except for the guage. Don't wait for a light to flash, or you will run out of fuel:)

You will have to have the abs computer scanned for codes. You likely have a bad speed sensor.

Check the DIS module or injectors. Check to make sure you have a spark on each cylinder. One cylinder could be misfiring

1994 Chev Cavalier - engine light comes on randomly

One cause of the light to come on randomly is a loose gas cap. If it's not replaced tightly (turned until it clicks three or four times) it throws the light on. It's one thing to check anyway.

Door locks activate at random with key off

First things first. Find out whats draining your battery. Systems with less than 12 volts can do very strange things.
