It sound like either the cooling fan clutch is not operating properly or the radiator needs to be pulled and roded out by a radiator shop, 1 other thing, are you sure the temp guage is accurate? you can test this by using a scan tool on the engine control computer, tap into the ECT sensor for the injection.

2006 CHEVY COBALT OVERHEATING HAS NEW RADIATOR WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT

That is normal, it will not get hot without the thermostat. The water cools in the radiator and falls to the bottom and the bottom hose is cold. This is what cools the engine and stops it from overheating.

Temp on a 1997 jeep wrangler is running over 220 degrees. is this normal.

that is on the high end of normal, the thermostat is probably a 195 that is fully open at 210-so it really should run around 210 in warmer weather, and cooler if the air is cooler. check the coolant level, make sure the fan clutch 'slips' when you turn it-it should only spin about 1/2 a turn when you spin it by hand, if it is loose, it is not working properly, and if it spins too hard it is going to use a lot of gas and will be hard on the water pump bearing (and be loud). If you have doubts about the cooling system, change the thermostat to a 180, flush and full the radiator with new antifreeze (50/50 mix water and antifreeeze). Make sure the front of the radiator is clean so air can go through the fins, and check the upper radiator hose when the engine is hot to see if the hose is hot and has pressure (can't calopse the hose due to pressure buildup)-if you cannot, check your radiator cap, it might be defective.

What is the Eng Temp on 3.0 eng

Thermastate should open and turn fan on around 120 deg, The normal running tempiture is around 180 deg, With being a 3.0 it has a smaller radiator and will run a little warmer the the biger engines. Good luck to you.

2001 jeep Cherokee running hot

If you have the 4.0L six cylinder those run hot. 210-220 degrees. If the cooling system is fine, both fans are working and it's not overheating you can try adding a bottle of "Water Wetter" to the coolant. I also changed my radiator cap to an 18psi which seemed to help run slightly cooler. You find it at the autoparts store.

I need to change the thermastat ,,, where is it and whats the easiest way

Heed of antifreeze solution temperature!!!
You must check the thermostat operating. The thermostat location for 1997 Audi A4 1.9 TDI is on back of alternator at the bottom side of the bracket.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is NOT necessary to replace the alternator if you want to change the thermostat !!!
Thermostat checking:
1. Cold engine. Start up the engine and watch of the water temp indicator. After first value 60 Celsius Degree you still warm up the engine until the lifter (pointer) reach 80 C deg. (second mark after 60 C deg.). At this time you let engine running at idle speed and check with your hand the thermostat plastic housing and hose temperature in bottom left side of the engine. Heed of alternator driving belt and ventilator fan !!!
2. If the thermostat is good the hose must be cold until the water temp indicator reach almost 90 C deg.
3. The thermostat opening temperature is 87 C deg.
4. If the hose is already warm the thermostat is out of order.
5. If the thermostat and the temp sender are OK the last piece out of order will be the instrument cluster.
