Re: C class keep flashing its indicator lights after...
Hi, it sounds like the alarm siren has failed, this is located behind the NSF wheel and is behind a plastic panel. Test the wiring at the siren, pins 1 and 3 should be battery voltage and pin 2 should be a good earth.

Hi, I have a 54 reg C220 estate that I recently bought and the indicators flash on locking, once on unlocking. All the indicators work as normal during other operations. They flash on unlocking now but not on locking! I always have to go back to check! It did start again a week ago, but again not working does anyone have any idea on what could be wrong, loose wire somewhere? Some suspect connector. Has it happened to you, a solution would be great thank you for any help
Probably the switch input to the BCM is bad . door ajar switch .
The BCM is also capable of commanding other vehicle systems to control functions that are not directly wired to and/or controlled by the BCM. The BCM accomplishes this task by sending specific messages on the class 2 serial data link. The vehicle system capable of performing such function will respond to the BCM message.
The BCM controls/monitors the following functions:
• Audible warnings
• Indicators control
• Interior lighting
• Exterior lighting
• Power/automatic door locks
• Keyless entry
• Content theft deterrent
• Personalization
• Serial Power Modes
• Electrical Power Management
Audible Warning
The body control module (BCM) provides the following audible control functions. Some audible control functions may be controlled by other systems through the class 2 serial data link:
• Headlamp on reminder
• Key in ignition reminder
• Personalization mode
• Delay locking indication
• Keyless entry programming/diagnostic mode indication
Indicator Control
The body control module (BCM) provides the following indicator control functions through the class 2 serial data circuits. Some indicator control functions may be controlled by other systems through the class 2 serial data link:
• Door ajar
• Liftglass/endgate ajar
• Park brake
• High beam
• Park lamp malfunction
• Service vehicle soon
• Personalization mode
• Security LED
• Battery
This may be a bad rear integrated control module. or connection or wiring to it.
REAR INTEGRATION MODULE (RIM)
The CTD system is an internal function of the rear integration module (RIM) which utilizes class 2 serial data and various switch input information to perform CTD functions. When the RIM detects an unauthorized entry, the RIM sends a message via the serial data circuit to the DIM to activate the horns and exterior lamps. The RIM has 5 basic modes. Disarmed, standby, delayed, armed, and alarm for operating the CTD system. The 5 modes transition from one step to the next in the following order:
When in the disarmed mode, ignition is OFF and any door is open the RIM commands the instrument cluster to flash the SECURITY indicator via the class 2 serial data circuit. The RIM has the CTD system in a disarmed mode until the following conditions are detected:
Ignition key turned to the OFF position
Any door open
Doors locked by either the power door lock switch or the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter
The RIM enters the standby mode when the above conditions are detected. In standby mode the RIM commands the instrument cluster to illuminate the SECURITY indicator via the class 2 serial data circuit. If all the doors are closed and the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter is used, the RIM enters the delayed mode.
When the last door is closed, the RIM enters the delayed mode for 30 seconds . In delayed mode the RIM commands the instrument cluster to illuminate the SECURITY indicator on steady via the class 2 serial data circuit.
After 30 seconds , the RIM enters the armed mode. In armed mode the RIM commands the instrument cluster to turn off the SECURITY indicator via the class 2 serial data circuit. Any forced entry activates the alarm mode.
After connecting battery, try using key in drivers door to lock, and /or unlock. Try passenger if that doesn't work, as well as valet key if it came with one.
i HAVE PROBLEM WITH DOOR LOCK COULD IT BE THE PUMP.LOCKS .WHEN I PRESS THE REMOTE KEY THE LIGHTS ON MIRROR FLASH INDICATING THAT THE REMOTE IS WORKING. COULD IT BE A FUSE IS SO WHERE IS FUSE LOCATED OR IS IT DOOR PUMP AND WHERE IS THAT LOCATED
most likely cause is the pass lock sensor is bad in the ignition switch. is the security light flashing also? if so then that is a good indication that the sensor will need replacing.
hello, good day,red and green is your indicator for your immobilizer or central locking system, maybe you need only to synchronize your car, please read your owner manual,ty
that system is part of D.A.S. 2( driver authorization system verson 2). the lights in the mirror will blink red when lock and green when unlock. during the self diagnoses portion they will blink simutanilusly when the remote key batteries are low and alternating when there is a malfunction with the key or other part of the driver authorization. it sounds like your remote key central locking batteries are low.
