Question about 2000 Toyota Camry

Engine shut down

Driving car uphill. full tank of gas. engine shuts down will not start. no idiot lights came on to warn me. could it be fuel pump, fuel filter or electric

    While driving at any speed the engine shuts off with no warning.

    when I go to put gas in the car the gas pump shuts off as if the tank is full have tried 3 different gas stations the engine light is on it says the vapor canister is bad

Sounds like the fuel pump is the most likely suspect. The fule filter could also play a role in preventing the fuel under pressure from reaching the engine going uphill. If you haven't changed the fuel filter recently, change it either way, then you can rule it out if the problem persists.
