Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Not sure what exactly the problem is. I have had the alternator and starter tested at autozone and they both test good. The problem I seem to be having is starting back in Oct. my battery died. I got a new one. It was fine for about 2 months, then the car would not turn over. Would not jump either. Took the battery back in and got a new one, it started right up. It lasted another two months before I needed to do the exchange again, This time though prior to the battery dying, I was driving down the road and everything inside started flashing, the lights went crazy, the dashboard went crazy. Hazards, brights, everything was going. This last about a minute and has never done it again. About 2 weeks ago, i went and bought another battery just to have a spare and the old one, which is only 2 months old was starting to not turn over. Then one week later it died and would not start. It seems to be turning over slower again and I am waiting for it to die. Im not sure what I should start replacing. If its the alternator, battery cables, starter, starter wires. I just not sure what it could be and when i call different places, no one can really tell me either...Any advice would be greatly appreciated it...
Have the alternator regulator and diodes tested. sometimes when the regulators fail they allow ac voltage to go to the battery. ac voltage doesn't charge the battery properly (causes it to deep cycle and shortens its life) and causes all sorts of funny problems with the car. also make sure the battery is secured properly, vibration isn't good for them at all.
