Driver side window

Situation:I have a toyota sienna 2000 and when I have for example to open window to pay toll it does not close (go up) but after a minute or 2. Sometimes it does not do it at all. But if it does, I have to wait to close it.

Yes - I have a Toyota Sienna 2000 LE. If I open the driver side window, and try to close it, the window won't close. After a few minutes it will go up maybe half an inch, then after another 5 minutes it will go up another half inch. So I have to keep trying to close it till I get it up all the way. Like at car wash, you open the window to input car wash code - then you have to close the window and drive into the carwash - THE WINDOW WON'T CLOSE !!

    How irritating that gets.

We have the exact same problem with our Sienna! When you want to put the window up, it will go up a bit then quit. Wait a few minutes, and the window will go up a bit more, etc. The driver window got worse and worse, now it won't close at all. The passenger window isn't quite as bad. We're going to buy the motor on-line then have our local mechanic install it.

I think Toyota Siennas are all plagued with the same problem.

I have the same problem. Driver's side window will only close half way then it will go up about an inch at a time. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes to get it to go up all the way. Thought I was the only one with this problem. You would think there would be a recall on the motor. I haven't had trouble with my passenger's side window yet. I'm currently online shopping for a new motor for the window. I need to get this resolved before it starts raining!

I had the same problem from time to time (right now it works fine, that is the frustrating part). I don't know how to completely solve the probelm, but I found a faster way to close the window if it only inches up every time. I pull the glass window up by hand, then you can close it by power.

I have the exact same symptoms on my 1999 Sienna drivers side door right now. I paid to have it investigated at my Toyota garage ($94.50 labor). They say the motor is the problem. They say it's "shorting electrically". Their quote to supply and install a new motor is $436. I'm going to check into used or rebuilt motors first.

Re Toyota 8 year/80,000 warranty about Toyota Sienna broken weld, is there a letter for this warranty?

Contact the dealer that I used. They were helpful. The dealer is in San Rafael, CA 94901
If they say they can fix it under warranty, you may want to drive there or call other dealers in the area.

2000 sienna first power door and dome lights don't

Chances are its a door switch or the wiring close to it. the wires bend every time you open and close the door. Check for that but if your dead set on a relay. look under the hood you should find a relay panel on the left(drivers side) finder well. On the cover of the panel box will be a listing and placement for all the relays

Automatic side door will not operate 2000 sienna LE. No noises when door button is pressed on dash or remote

this problem can only be diagnos bya a dealer specific scan tool, so they can go into a body computer and run a check, there a presure sensitive switches, but before you going into any dealer make sure all seals are clean of soda, coffe or any spills, also at point of contact with body,
One more thing hope this will help you: close all doors unlocked and remove your negative cable from battery, live it off couple minutes....reconec then turn on power door swith and press open door switch and hold it until door opens completly, then press to close it and hold switch until door is completly close, reset done Good Luck hope this help,

2005 Toyota Sienna LE Driver Side Power Sliding Door When the door is closed and latched, the motors makes noise, and the door moves the tiniest bit, but it doesn't open. The same happens in the fully...

Try this... it fixed my problem whereby the 2005 Toyota Sienna passenger sliding door would sometimes open and sometimes not, yet I could hear the motor trying to open/close it. It cost me 20 minutes and 10 drops of oil, not $1200.

First, get the door open. It took me two weeks of constant trying, but it finally opened.

Next, remove the plastic covering of the inside door handle this way: locate the two screws on the forward edge of the sliding door near the child-safety switch: (the switch is a small lever near the door latch, on the forward edge of the door) loosen and remove the two phillips screws, one above the child-safety latch, and one below.

Remove the plastic cover to expose the gears for the door open/close mechanism.

There's a bunch of intricate plastic and metal parts in there, all coated with white grease. I used some 3-n-1 oil to lubricate everything in there thoroughly, In my case, there was one part that was a little void of grease, hence it "stuck" occasionally.

Test the system. If it's Okay, replace the plastic cover, and re-install the screws.

Now my Toyota Sienna 2005 door never fails to open or close.

Toyota Sienna 2000 Mini-van. The driver's side power window.

I have the same problem with my 2000 Sienna.Probably window motor will need replacement. Frustrating. Turns out I have a lot of the same wear and tear issues with my Sienna as others. Automatic door sticks open or continually pops open, snapped rear hatch, tire pressure sensor always on. C'mon Toyota, I hope your newer models are more robust. FYI we take VERY good care of our van.

The sliding door on my 2004 toyota sienna won't close

Try this.....Find the latch on the door, stick your finger in the hole, lift up and pull the door handle at the same time, the inside latch mechanism should go up, then try the door again. It would be nice if that's all it was huh? Sometimes they stick when they get too cold. If this works for you....spray it with some WD-40 or graphite. Hope this worked for you. Cheaper than the 2000.00 motor!
