The fuel pump relay only energizes for 2 seconds when you turn the key on. It re-energizes once the pcm detects engine rpm. What you are seeing may be the normal operation of the system.

If the vehicle still won't start or the fuel pump dosen't run you will have to trace the wiring from the relay to the pump and check your grounds.

Had water pump replaced on a 99 ,trying to see w hats malfunctioning has new plugs ,wireboots ,coils and may be timing belt as mechanic sais looks loosemissingteeth or something... l sputtering ,jerking...

Maybe find a better mechanic, because you car doesn't have a timing belt. Did you have this problem before the water pump was replaced? What engine do you have? He may be able to check IAC operation and crank sensor. Fuel pressure verified good?

My car ran outta gas i put gas in it and it wont start it acts like it wants to but doesnt i have replaced the fuel filter i hear the fuel pump working when i replaced the fuel pump gas came out the pump...

the first thing I would do is check fuel pressure. The pumps on these vehicles do not like to be run without fuel in the tank since its the fuel that helps keep the pump cool. Running low or out of fuel will cause the pump to overheat.

If fuel pressure is less than 35-40 psi than the pump is bad.

No power to fuel injectors on my 2002 chevy mailbu ls? replaced cam sensor, checked all fuses, new fuel pump.Had good fuel pressure and will run on starting fluid?

There is a fuse for ther injectors. There should be a constant power to the injectors. the computer is what grounds them out. So it's not the computer. Also check the asd relay. Auto shut down.

Replaced fuel pump in 1999 malibu car wont start no power to fuel pump replaced fuse still nothing help

Check out the Passlock problem. The stinkin' car thinks it is being stolen and does not send fuel to the injectors. Nothing to do with fuel pump. This car is one of the many reasons GM went bankrupt and we taxpayers are now the "happy" owners of a **** company.

2002 Chevrolet Malibu. Replaced fuel pump after diagnosis

Sounds like a leaking fuel pressure regulator. After it has been replaced change the oil and check for oil leaks.

Dash instruments not working, engine turns but wont start

iam not sure but the most common culprit is a bad ignition switch. if the switch goes bad then no power will get to the gauges etc. check switch.

My malibu isnt getting gas to the engine. i just replaced the fuel pump and filter but now the fuel pump wont turn on. could it be wiring?

Check power and ground with a test light first. You might have got a bad one, I've had this happen before.

1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Fuel Pump

check the connector to the fuel pump for corrosion or loose pins, the fuel pumps of newer cars and trucks are designed to last at least 100,000 miles, when the new pumps quit did u verify they had power to them?
