Fan not coming on does a 2000 pontiac sunfire have a fan relay?

yes, probably in the relay box by the battery. Note that the PCM receives a signal from the coolant temp sensor and decides when to send a ground signal to turn on the relay.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check if you want to interrogate the relay socket. These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

98 sunfire wont start, battery good, replaced starter solnoid, starter, ignition.. please help

if you had the starter recall done, there is a relay mounted near the center of the radiator that controls start power. Pontiac dealer sells the part.

Radiator fan not workin and causing car to get hot

It is possible that you'll need to replace the fan motor or the entire unit if the motor it'self can not be replace separately from the fan.

Sunfire overheating, not low on coolant

Sensor on the engine sends info to the computer that triggers fan relay and sends power to fan. Most often problem is sensor or relay but quick check fan itself by hot wiring it to the battery Polarity is not an issue...if you get wrong it will run backwards. If it does not run, it's bad.

Where is location of cooling fan relay?

Under the hood on the drivers side, just forward of the shock tower, you will see what is called an "under hood fuse center". On the cover you can see the various fuses and relays that are located in the fuse center.
One of those relays is the coolant fan relay. Remove the top cover of the fuse center to gain access to the relay.
Hope this answers your question, good luck.
