Alarm going off for no reason

The anti-theft alarm keeps going off on my 1993 Audi 90. I pulled replaced the fuse to stop it. Wondering where the problem is and how to fix it. Is it a relay? Is it in the ignition system somewhere? Sometime I lose my headlights, heater fans, turn signals, etc and have to restart the car to get them to come back on.

I too have a 1993 Audi 90s and my alarm has been acting strange. Whenever I unlock my car the alarm will go off until I open my door, and deactivates as soon as I do. It really hasn't hurt the car, but is annoying so I have pulled the fuse so now the power locks don't work since they are on the same fuse. Is there any way to deactivate the anti-theft alarm without pulling the fuse?

Someone told me that if you replace the alarm portion of the key fob/car with an automatic starter, you can get rid of the alarm altogether. Anyone know if this is in fact, true?

BTW, I am havin this problem with our Mazda MP3 in the cold weather.

    Thanks.

Here is what I know:
You can not deactivate the alarm. There is no seperate fuse or relay for the alarm. You CAN pull back the siding on the inside of the left side of the trunk and you will find the horn for the alarm.  A disconnected mine. I've heard that there is some battery for the alarm and that the alarm going off mysteriously is part of the system knowing that this batter is low.  I have not found documenation to this affect, however.

I had the same problem with my 2001 audi a6 and just foung that if i left the windows cracked at all it would do it so make sure all your windows and sunroof are all the way closed see if that works if not then take it in to the dealer ship sounds like you might have quite an electrical problem.

it sounds like the anti-theft module needs to be reset so it won`t go off when it shouldn`t.the module thinks the car is being stollen as it went into anti-theft mode and needs to be reset.usually the light for this problem(gross vacume leak) will reset on its own when the computer goes through its test procedure for the evap system and detects no fault.

Radiato fan won stop running on a 1993 audi 90 s

I assume from your description that the fan will run until the battery is dead?

Sounds like your fan control relay (underhood, large fuse panel/box) or fan control switch is stuck. Both very simple to replace.

Fan control relay

Fan control switch

I hope this helps

The fuel injector/ fuel pump fuse keeps going out on me and i have to keep replacing it. i can only drive about fifty feet before it goes out.

The most likely problem is the fuel pump itself is shorting out,it will have to be replaced to repair the problem,it is in the fuel tank.

Anti theft alarm goes off when no one is around mostly at night or early morning sometimes when driving door locks keep locking and unlocking and interior lights go on

You have a short in your Electrical system where the alarm connects to your power assist system or a short in your alarm. Pull the fuse for the alarm and if the problem stops it is the alarm if it continues you will need to trace the connections and make sure they are secure and protected by taping them up.

Electrical problem 1993 Audi 90 CS

The 1993 90 instrument cluster is very sensitive.  Even having bulbs out can mess it up.  You should consider replacing the ignition switch.  It is easy you can do it yourself, do NOT let Audi dealer's service tell you it's $500 to do it.  You can get the part for less than 30 bucks on ebay.  Undo the screws under the steering wheel, take off the plastic, take out the 2 screws on the instrument cluster, take out the cluster enough to see the ignition switch.  THis is the tricky part:  get a small screw driver and LOOSEN the small screws that keep the ignition switch in place.Replace.  Re-tighten, put it all back and you're done.
Ignition switch is EVERYTHING in this car.  Oh, do not by the switch with the pink plastic where the key would go, buy the WHITE.
