Question about 2005 Volkswagen Touareg
I can unlock the door manually, but when I put the key in the ignition, the car won't start and a sign on the dashboard computer comes on saying "immobil activated" or something like that. I get that this is a security feature, but I need to drive my car - how do I start the car with my inability to turn off the alarm due to a faulty keyfob?
SOURCE: alarm immobillizer
The alarm systems on land rovers are quite tempramental. They work on radio frequencies. If you park next to a radio antenna like they have at post/ telecommunications offices. Then the radio waves they send out can interfere with your cars system, making it think it has been attempted to be broken into, and so immobilises. You should have a 4 digit code called the EKA code. You must have this to knock off the immobilser to start the car. The car must be locked completely, all windows shut and then enter the EKA code using your key.
Hope this helps

Do you have a key fob? Unlock the car with that and you should be OK. My sons Elantra is the same way, you can only get in with the fob. I guess the car thinks it's being stolen otherwise. If you don't have a fob, I'm no help

If you have an owners manual look at the menu controls on the car computer. You should have choices for the alarm and doorlocks, how long lights stay on, traction control, chimes, bells,etc.. A kindly Audi dealer will probably help you.
