Question about 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra
My 1997 Ford Mustang will not come out of PARK. It starts fine, no dummy lights stay on, BUT, the brake lights don't work.
I had the same problem, sprayed some wd-40 on the mechanisms that can be seen through the oval cut out around the shifter ! Now she shifts perfect ! xoxo

The brake light switch at your pedal is defective, or more likely, the wire at the connector broke or came loose. If you need to move it in an emergency, turn off the car, place it in neutral, and start it. Mind you that you still will not have brake lights. The switch is an easy fix.
