The fuel filter is located on the passenger side of the car (underside), just ahead of the rear axle. Once you're under the car, you can just follow the fuel lines leading from the gas tank. They will lead right to the filter (shaped like a large oil filter and hard to miss).

There are no tools required to replace the air filter. On your car, the air filter compartment has several clamps that can be pulled up by hand. Once the clamps are popped up, remove the cover and replace the air filter (pleated side down). Simply close the cover and push the clamps back into place and you're done!
Fuel pump runs for 2 seconds when key is turned on when the engine starts it continues to keep pressure at 30 PSI while engine is running, If you are going up hill the fuel regulator will kick in increasing fuel rail pressure to 60 PSI If the Fuel Pump does not detect the engine running by th cam shaft or crank shaft sensor the pump will not run. There is a fuel sock on the pump and a fuel filter as well. If it's not running most likely the Fuel Pump Is bad, The ethanol in the fuel eats the old pumps up and destroys the filter. So if you have not replaced the filter or the fuel sock then it's time to do so now. If you want more information let me know and I will give you more.
The fuel filter may have gotten to the end of it's life and needs to be replaced, the fuel pump to may be at the end of it's life also and may need to be replaced, or there is a problem with the SEFI system (fuel injectors), but start with the simple for now. Replace the Fuel filter since they should be replaced every 30,000 miles or once a year. If you can lone out a fuel pressure gauge, check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve and the readings with the ignition on the run position engine not running should be 60 to 65psi and will drop about 5 psi when the engine is running, any lower readings would call for the replacement of the fuel pump. Also check the fuses to make sure any of the fuse to the ecm and fuel pump has not blown and needs to be replaced, which also make me wonder if there is 13.5 votls from the battery when the engine is running, if the volts drop to 10.5 the engine will stall and it's also been know that 11.0 volts may not be enough for the fuel pump to run 60 psi with a dirty fuel filter. Good luck and hope this helps. So recap friend, replace the fuel filter and check the fuel pressure, if the pressure is not enough, then replace the fuel filter and fuel pump by dropping the gas tank to get to the fuel pump and don't forget to replace the wire harness to the fuel pump since there is a good chance that wires are going to break and give you problems in the future after replacing the fuel pump. Good luck and hope this helps and the SEFI is good.
Try replacing the fuel filter if it is slightly clogged when you need more gas not enough is going through the filter and starving the engine of fuel.
hope this helps [email protected]
