Question about 2002 Nissan Quest
Sounds like your shift cable has gotten out of sync, If this is the case, you take the shify cable loose from the link on transmission, then shift link to park position , then adjust cable to line up to the link and rehook. I don't know exactly how your set up looks but the procedure is the same on most cars.

Nissan has extendet their warantee on a 2004 Quest ONLY. 5years or 60000 miles bumper to bumper. 2004 ONLY. Take it to a dealer if you are under 60000 and have them look at it.
