Boverton4@sbcglobal.net my 03 f-150 is very sluggish on take offs at stops and exceleration! i installed new fuel and air filters still same problem

I had a L-shaped rubber hose at the top of the engine near the firewall collapse and snap in two. I replace the $7 hose and have had no problems since. I checked all of my other vacuum lines and replaced one that seemed dry-rotted. Good Luck!

Check the catalytic converter.they get clogged sometimes.makes the vehicle run very sluggish as though its starved for gas

Check the mass air flow sensor they are commonly bad do you have a check engine light on?

Have a 94 buick roadmaster,while driven it has a bad miss to it. It excelerate fine but while driven and stoped at red light it excelerate up and down,up and down.


Sounds like your sucking in some air through the fuel but try this first...new plugs and wires, distributer, fuel filter and air filter... total cost should be under 200 if you do it your self.... and it isn't rocket science but it sure sounds like your sucking air....

SLUGGISH EXCELERATION ON TAKE OFF. ACTS LIKE IT IS BEING STARVED OF FUEL AND TRIES TO DIE. I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED THE FUEL FILTER.


Hook up a fuel gauge to the fuel rail and check the pressure with key on engine off.The fuel pressure should be 60-66 psi,if its not within specs replace fuel pump.

IF YOU GOT GAS ENGINE.PROBLEM COULD BE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER OR WEAK FUEL PUMP.LOW ENGINE COMPRESSION.BAD SPARK PLUG + WIRES + ROTOR AND CAP ALSO BAD COIL CAUSING WEAK SPARK.IF YOU HAVE DIESEL ENGINE SLUGGISH.PROBLEM COULD BE RESTRICTED AIR FILTER DIESEL.INJECTION PUMP TIMING OUT OF ADJUSTMENT.FAULTY EGR AND EPR VALVES.RESTRICTED EXHAUST SYSTEM STOPPED UP MUFFLER PLUGGED FUEL FILTER.PLUGGED FUEL TANK DUE TO FAULTY FUEL CAP.MISSING PROBLEM COULD BE CAUSED BY DIRTY OR FAULTY INJECTORS.
