Question about Ford Ranger
Coud be a cable problem or a stuck TPS (throttle Position Sensor) Check for binding linkage with the engine off operate the accelerator while someone watches the action to make sure it goes back to the original poing with no binding or sticking Replace the accelerator Cable or Lube any sticking linkage with liquid wrench,

It is true the cable is stuck on my ranger too, but the spring and cable are not attached to the foot pedal. If I could see a picture of the way it is attached I would be that much closer. Thanks for any help, Paul
