Did the lights dim when you tried to start it? If they did, it sounds like the battery is dead. It's probably the original battery, so at about 4 years old, it's probably time to replace it. Many auto parts stores offer a free check of your charging system and battery. Of course you would have to get someone w/ jumper cables to start your car so you could get to the store. If it is the battery, they will install it. You can spend $50 to $100 on a battery. countrycurt0

Have 2005 nissan Maxima, the TCS ABS lights on the dash , some sort of motor still runs enven when I turn off the ignition. In order to get it to stop I have to disconnect the battery

May be stuck relay. With battery discon and everything cold, hook up battery but do not start car. Wait a minuet or 2 then feel the top of each relay in fuse box and elsewhere. If on is hot, tap with screwdriver handle to see if it releases and motor stops running. Even if it does not, that relay should not be hot with key off, so needs to be replaced.

My 2005 Nissan maxima 3.5 won't start. All I get is a clicking sound when I turn the key.

Dead battery? Check voltage, try to jump start Start it. If it does not start, listen to see if fuel pump comes on. If it does then check starter. Try tapping on it with a rubber malet to see if it starts. If it does, replace starter.

My 2005 maxima wont start. when i turn the key there is a lot of clicking noises but no turn over. Is this a starter problem?

If it just clicks once when you turn the key it sounds like your battery. If it clicks multiple times when you turn the key, like a ratchiting sound, it is probably your starter.

My 1991 Nissan Maxima won't start. When I depress

Probably a bad starter or battery. Is battery old? Any corrosion?

Tap on the starter - then try and start the car. To find the starter follow the big cable from the positive/red terminal on your battery to the starter.

Clicking noise when i start my nissan maxima 2005

White smoke indicates water being burned. Also the ticking means your loosing oil. You most likely have a blown head gasket.

2005 nissan altima won't start, clicking noise is heard

It sounds like your battery is dead. You may be able to fix this with a jump start if you left your lights on over night. If a good jump does not work it may be your starter. but you should start with the simple and cheap solution first. Try having someone jump start your car.

HI there .... by the sounds of what you are saying, you have a bad starter. One way to find out for sure is if you can get at the starter, tap it with a hammer and then try starting or have someone try to start the car while you are tapping on the starter. if the car starts then you have a bad starter and need to replace it. Hope this helps you out
