The next thing to check is fuel pressure. You can get a cheap gauge (30 bucks) at the auto parts store.

you may just have a battery with dead or dying cells...make sure your have your battery load tested making sure you have enough amps to crank the car...just because it powers up the cluster doesnt mean it has enough juice to crank the engine..

Strong, almost continuous squeeky noise coming from the front left end of the car when steering left and right. it is not the hissing type of noise coming from the power steering box, and it started...

Sounds like it has a tensioner pulley, idol pulley, or an ac going bad. I would start by looking at them while running and see if there is any noticable defects in their function. IE nothing is leaning or turning slower then they should be. If nothing shows give each one a quick spray of lube one at a time and see which one makes a difference.

Have you ever had the starter replaced? If the car is put into neutral will it crank? If it does then it may be a neutral safety switch thats gone bad. I would start with the neutral trick, if still nothing then you are probably looking at a starter.

This may sound a bit simple but check the starter solenoid function by running an external wire to the thin wire terminal from the positive post on the battery.

If the starter does nothing then the starter is bad.

What your describing is a typical solenoid / starter problem. Given the car is now 10 year old, it is quite possible that either the solenoid or starter has failed.

I turn the key to start car and nothing, no sound no cracking nothing...except the lights

Does this car have an alarm system? Several models experience a similar issue. Have to leave the key in the on position for close to half an hour allowing vehicle to start. This is also provided that the key switch is functioning properly and the battery voltage is not low.

Car wont start-not a gig

it sounds as if you might have to replace the battery, if your battery is shot you can still get a boost and the car will run because the alternator produces electricity which should take car of the cars functions and top up the charge on the battery. if the battery is no longer taking the charge or not holding it as soon as you shut it off it will not have enough power to start the starter. A lot of automotive place will do a check on your battery if you take it to them.

please note that i'm not a mechanic and this is just based on my own experiance

Wont start

check all wires running from the batt to the starter motor. if the wires are tight and fitting quite well, its the starter itself. remove it and test for voltage and motor function at your local auto parts shop.
