Question about 2004 Chevrolet Venture Passanger
Your heat problem can be fixed by having an auxillary coolant pump installed. This can be purchased at the dealership and there is a technical service bulletin with all the info.
Some ticking noises can come from the heater door actuators which would be under the dashboard... not sure if going up a hill would affect it though.

Check the if the copper nut that holds the positive cable from the battery is tight at the connection to the starter solenoid.
