Check the master switch contacts at the switch and connector clean all to get shiny and the must fit tight on the switch if after doing this you still have the problem it might be inside the switch itself the contacts are dirty but before you take it apart take off the door panel and unplug the window motor then run 2 wires +\- to the motor don't worry about polarity the motor works by fowarded / reverse polarity to raise and lower it if it works then we know it's in the switch if it doesn't of course the motor is burned out but if the motor works but the window still doesn't go up the cable snapped and must be replaced so these are all the possibilities of the symptom //// dirty contacts on the connection outside the switch /// inside the switch ////// bad motor ////// broken cable in the door that the motor drives to raise and lower the window//////this window is used the most by everyone so it's more likely to be a contact or cable problem but if the motor works put the window up before you take apart the actual switch and if the cable broke you can push the window up by hand and put a piece of wood in there to hold it up till you can get it fixed if the motor seized you must unbolt the motor from the door separate the cable from the motor gear/////be careful don't let the cable wheel fall or unravel then slowly raise the window by hand get it all the way up put the wood there then put the motor back in with the cable wheel attached and the window should stay up you can by a new motor or the junk yard which ever you prefer but new is best you will know that it will last for a long time but if you have a u pull it yard go for the newest motor you can find there the same the driver motor and right rear door motor are the same so is the right front door and the left rear door ok good luck stephen
That cable cannot be uncurled since it has slipped out and probably has loose strands. You will have to replace the entire window regulator, which includes that wire and the mechanism that the glass goes up and down on.
have a nissan maxima 1992. electric windows do not work.. have checked out the fuses but they are fine..there is no power at all for all 4 windows..can anybody help???
if you go to the dealer they will copy the mech manule it you ask them as they want you to get frustrated and take it to them
so go on and ask and if all else fails take it to them or goto local parts store like auto zone they can preint it off too
dealer is best bet though
Check under the drivers and passengers front seat for electrical cables. sometimes the connections can get disturbed by feet or items that have rolled under the seats (specially if you have kids)making a bad connection of the cables
As for the rear door window mechanism, you must remove the door trim pad and you will see the mechanism with its electrical motor etc, just undo the bolts and remove it. Hope this helps
