Unable to reset the Radio/CD after battery disconnected. asking for code

what it is asking for is the anti-theft code that cut in when the battery was disconnected

just call dealership and give last 7 of vin and they will issue the security code for radio

try a hard reset by disconnecting the vehicle battery for a minute or two then reconect there is no need for a radio code on lr3 if this doesnt work ask your local dealer to plug the car in to there diagnostic equipment and update the radio software

Try turning the radio off and disconnecting the battery for 2 min then reconnect the battery and turn on the radio. This may reset the radio to default so you can eject the CD and reset your station preset and clock. make sure the radio is off before disconnecting the battery or your going to be prompt to program a radio code. Try turning the radio off and then disconnect the battery for 1 min. After reconnecting the battery, turn the radio on and this might reset the radio and the CD may come out. The radio may need to be reset. Turn the radio off and disconnect the battery for 1 min and then reconnect the battery, this should reset the radio and the CD will come eject. If the CD will still not come out, then there is a mechanical problem with the Radio and your going to have to have it repaired or replaced. Turn the radio off then disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and turn on the radio, that my reset the radio for the Cd to be ejected. Good luck and hope this helps. MAKE SURE THE RADIO IS OFF BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. If the radio is left on you'll be prompted to enter a radio code.

In your manuel there is instruction to unlocking the radio and you may have the code's written in the back. If it does ask for a code try 0000 and if that does not work try logging on to www.radio-code.com.
They can give you the instruction and codes you need to reset your radio. If you have a good relationship with the dealer they may be able to help you out too since they are always disconnecting and changing batteries.

I have a 2001 focus ..radio suddenly stopped playing after being at garage.  I thought that the battery was disconnected and the radio neede reset code, as it has a rad blinking dash anti-theft light.  i went to ford garage and they told me they don't have reset codes on the focus.  Is this true?
