THis sounds like the pressure relief valve near the oil filter is acting up. Have you put very heavy oil in it?? Is this an auto trans or manual? You sure didn't do it good reving it! O My Anyway, after you red line it and let it idle,is the prob still there?? Frankster016

I have a 91 caprice make knocking noise when I crank it

if auto , check the flex plate at the torque converter for cracks
check ring gear for burrs
possible big end bearing
possible piston or broken ring
test by removing a plug and cranking it replace the plug and go to the next plug
repeat the process until the knock stops with that plug removed

Motor noise

As long as it goes away within a few seconds don't worry about it. If it was a bearing problem it would knock every time it was started cold, not just now and then.

Bad oil pump knock

ionMr. Hugo. what to what you do have is the viscosity of your engine oil. Most probably is either long mileage used engine oil and due to that oil mud built up inside the engine, in the oil pan and most likely close to the oil pressure pump filter reducing the suction and that is why you do have cold lifter knocking,as the engine oil that time is thicker and when it gets hot become thinner and lifters stopped knocking. My persona advise do flush the old engine oil using ( RESTORE MOTOR CLEANER ) pour it into the engine old oil, start the engine in idle and few times reving it for 40 minutes. Then drain it and renew the engine oil with new and recommended engine oil for your engine,by renewing the oil filter as well. Also in the new engine oil put also (RESTORE FRICTION REDUCER ) additive and run the engine. For next oil change please do it every 5000 km ( 3000 miles)

Does a 99 lincoln have a knock sensor?

On both cars the knock sensor is located in the intake valley.

the computer receive signals if engine knocking and adjust the timing till stop. Before replace the sensors make sure the engine have no other misfire ,bad gas or vacuum leak.plug scan tool and read the code.Only circuit problem will be a true knock problem. Inspect all wire connectors before start taking a part.

Sebring 2004 engine knocking

Well it could be something in the timing components but I doubt it.
Chances are its a connecting rod or piston.

MOTOR KNOCKS, RED LINED it .1990 trooper 2.8 v6 whats the knocking coming form

If you red-lined it the most likely cause of a knocking noise is a spun bearing on the crankshaft. That means that a bearing has turned inside the bearing cap and is now restricting the oil flow. This will ruin your engine fairly quickly. The bottom end needs to come apart and the longer you drive it the worse it will get. Hope this helps.

2003 Volvo S40 1.9T. when I start the car in the morning the engine knocks during 40 seconds and then it stops knocking and it operates properly without knocking. what should I do to have this knocking...

well this happens because the oil drains to the pan when sitting for a long time so when starting it takes a few for the oil pump to go though the motor this is normal best thing i could say is to buy some zmax or duel lube to help it from friction in the first start up.

Knocking in lower part of motor when you step on the gas Help!!!!!

pssible rod knocking.try pulling a plug wire off each cylinder only one at a time restarting only with one wire off, sometimes a rod will stop knocking if there no fire on the cylinder.old school method, some newer cars dont like this much it triggers some sensors and lights some times. or just take a wooden handle too your ear and too certain parts of the motor too pin piont the sound, keep away from moving parts

Knock in engine

it can also be an injector. injectors tend to supply more diesel after long service. To check if this is the problem: let the motor idle whilst it knocks. start from the front of the motor- loosen no1 injector fuel line- the motor will start idling roughly as fuel supply to no1 piston is starved. If the knock persists, tighten the fuel line and move to no2 injector and repeat the process. the knock will gradually go away if one of the injectors' fuel lines are loosened and the injector is faulty. If you get 1 or more injectors with these symptoms, remove and replace the injector. If the problem persists, it can either be that one of the diesel pump plungers are worn and supplies too much fuel or a big end bearing is faulty.
