Your best bet if your not familiar with timing belts you might want to have somone more experienced install it for you a job that may cost you a 150.00 to 200.00 could end up costing you a engine timing a motor can be complicated depending on vehicle it is very easy to **** a valve ruin a camshaft, etc those marks need to be right alot of times when you get your marks aligned then you put the tensioner they move and if your not aware could cost you but if you are willing to try your better off getting a illustrated book step by step like haynes or chilton for your year car it will give you step by step and give you cautionsto look for

1999 Tercel. Timing belt/water pump interval change?

Hello tinaromano1: The factory specification are to replace the belt every 90,000 miles in severe service. I would recommend to replace at 90,000 no matter what the service would be. Keep in mind should the belt break there is always a chance engine damage may occur. Should you need further help just ask. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger
