Do you have another key? Try the other key is it a key with the plastic piece built on it? if so there is a chip in it and it may be damaged.
Also try locking all the doors unlock the door with the key this allows the security system to know the correct key is being used. See if it will start if not put the key in the ignition and turn it on (have a battery charger on so the battery will no go dead) leave it on for about two hours and do not turn it off just try to start it from there if it does not work try again turn it off and on again for one hour see the security computer needs to aknowlege the chip in the key.

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

I Have A Seville 1990, When That Happen To Me I Got The Inginion
Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me
And Sorry There Is No By Passing The Computer
