Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
Its probably your imobolizer (sp?). That is (what I believe!) is wrong with mine. Exact same car, and only in the damn summer! Usually mine will start after the 4th or 5th try. Just try not to gas it or it might flood the engine. The imobolizer is a chip in the steering column that recognizes your key. The car is too smart for its own good and thinks it being stole. I have had my keys reset, bought a new key, replace the door latch...you name it. It all comes down to the imobolizer. Its a pricey fix, so I am waiting to replace it until it goes out completly. Good luck!
