Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler

2 Answers

I have a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. Periodically, after the car has run, then shutoff, it won't re-start. It simply cranks. I went to the dealer and had the Crankcase Position Sensor replaced. The car started fine for a couple of days thereafter, then the problem began all over again. Any help would be appreciated.

i have a 97 jeep wrangler 2.5L that runs fine then all of a sudden it tries to stall. i pump the gas pedal a few times then it comes back on. it,s the wierdest thing. i've had sensors, spark plugs & wires, dist cap/rotor cap, cat converter, replaced and i still have the same problem. everytime i have something replaced it runs good for awhile then all of a sudden it wants to stall for a few seconds then just comes back on. even the dodge/jeep mechanics can figure it out.

2003 wrangler (30k miles)--fuel injectors cleaned 2 years ago. Now,cranks, won't start. 2 hour diagnostic revealed bad oxygen sensor AND they say the injectors need cleaning AGAIN, but luckily the fuel pump is fine ....THEY SAY.

If it won't crank, check clutch safety switch and cables for the starter.
If it cranks but won't start, you'll need to find out if it is ignition or fuel to know where to look next.

Is the check engine light lighting up on the dashboard, when you turn the ignition key to on? If not then your ecu is in need of repair since it is not sending power to the coil and probably also not to the injectors also.

Try replacing Co2 sensor, most people don't realized that unit need replacing every 50-75k miles also. if that does not work, take it to the dealer and have them plug it into the computer, that will allow for them to narrow it down. with service engine light on, it will effect some of your gas mileage and the performances. The dealer charge somewhere around 50 bucks to diagnose using their computer, however 50 bucks will appilied toward the repair bill if they do the work.

97 Jeep Wrangler sport- Cranks, will not

Fuel flow. Either simply, a blocked fuel line (debris / filter / fouled gas) or an electronic issue. Ever let this Jeep run bone dry on gas? Hopefully not, as doing so can draw a lot of crud into your fuel lines from the bottom of the tank. Electronically, if part of the Jeep "brain" has gone bad, there may not be any fuel being routed to the engine. This most likely needs a Jeep mechanic to repair.
