My 05 cobalt just overheated today.. when the warning light came on it was at 260... i had 2 miles to get home.. i thought maybe it was just low and it will be ok... i got home and the temo was at 278. I let it cool down, realized my coolant was low. barely even in the reservoir. My car has 77k on it. A couple months ago i hit a deer and had 5k worth of front end damage. They replaced the radiator and everything surrounding it. Could there be a problem with something they replaced? could it just be low on coolant? What would make my car run out of coolant in 20k miles?!

215 is not overheating. Does it keep getting hotter the faster you go? Does it cool off when slowing down or at idle? Does the Fan clutch or electric fan come on? When the engine is this hot.

I have a 2006 chevy cobalt when I went to start it, it started up idled rough then shut off, and keeps doing so why?

There could be many reasons - faulty fuel pump or faulty sensors which control ignition/fuel/ air flow.

Don't change parts in the hope that you'll cure the problem. Give a mobile mechanic a call and get him to do a diagnostic check for you and identify the fault. These guys are usually very good and cheaper than a workshop

2006 CHEVY COBALT OVERHEATING HAS NEW RADIATOR WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT

That is normal, it will not get hot without the thermostat. The water cools in the radiator and falls to the bottom and the bottom hose is cold. This is what cools the engine and stops it from overheating.

How to set my timing on a 2006 chevy cobalt 2.2

There is no ignition timing to set on these later model cars. The spark is controlled by sensors and the engines computer which will pulse the injectors and ignition coils. What kind of problem are you having?

2006 chevy cobalt LT. the key is stuck

Have you tried shifting the gears completely through and then putting the car in park. It sounds like the car isn't able to be put completely in park to release the key. Try putting the car in N and removing the key. Even thought the car may not completely be in park to release the key, The gear most likely is in park but not enough to make the switch/sensor to release.

2006 Chevy Cobalt. My power steering goes out.

It sounds like the power steering motor is overheating pre maturely. Changing the motor should take care of the problem. What really happens is the motor reports to the power steering module that it is over heating and the module is shutting power to the motor down, the motor is actually no overheating.
