Question about Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Just bought a 99 Buick LeSabre 3.8 V6 Car didn't have keys with it. Bought replacements from Buick dealer based on VIN # so they should work. Starter was bad and replaced. Now it won't start or even crank. I hot wired the starter, it will crank but not turn over. I get a security light on panel. I suspect a VATS problem. Trying to get steering wheel off to check the ignition cylinder, I've hit a wall/ Don't know how to get wheel off. I removed the airbag but there we sit. I removed the nut and the wheel doesn't move. Do you have to have a special puller?

Lost key to the vehicle. Is there a way for me to get another set of keys to this make and model.

you should be able to get a hold of the dealer and give them the vin number and the make and year of car. and if its the original switch, they should be able to help you ! or call a lock smith. have a good day ! if worst case, replace switch.

I have lost my keys, and that include my buick keys, is there anybody know where I can get a key made? Please help. I have a 1997 Buick LeSabre

With your VIN number and proof of ownership (title, insurance card, etc.) any Buick dealer can cut and program a key for you. Any Chevy, Cadillac, or GMC dealer should be able to take care of as well.

Take it to another gm dealer and see if they can check it to find out what number chip is in it. You will need to replace you ign. lock cylinder and get a new key anyway to fix car.

No money! need key code 1990 buick lesabre

Contact your local Ford dealer. They may make you tow the car in or just provide proof of ownership (registration, bill of sale etc) that has the VIN number on it. They can find the right key with the VIN. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

Bought a valet key for 2000 Buick (lost original ignition key). Tried the sequence explained to me by dealer but does not work. What else can I do?

The only 2 options you have at this point are as follows, Hope to some higher power you find the key, or take it to the dealer and have a new key cut and chipped, im sure that it has a securilock system, that makes it tough, Although the key itself isnt very expensive, you have to have a key cut by code, There is a special code designated to your key that can be looked up by the vin number of the vehicle and can be cut and programed that way.

Ive got a 99 buick lesabre that will not start. Its not even turning over when i turn the ignition switch. My battery is new, and the alternator is good. Could my starter be bad? Its the 3600 series V6.

Jump start it at the starter and see if it will turn over. If it turns over then check the fuesable link at the starter. If it does not turn over then your starter is probable not good.
