I have a '97 Plymouth Voyager 3.0L with 31te auto trans. The vehicle speed sensor is on the lower back side of the engine/trans housing. It's best if you have a lift or jack up the passenger side front tire. When you get under the engine, you should see it through the undercarriage and mid to passenger side of the vehicle on or near the trans-axle housing. Hope that helps.

My speedometer started intermittently going erratic and at the same time my car would run rough. Finally, the check engine light code PO500 surfaced. Replaced the vehicle speed sensor and it fixed the issue. I could not find the location of the vehicle speed sensor online or in my repair manual, so I thought I would post this to help those that needed to know after I found out. Good luck!

Location of speed sensor a for 99 dodge intrepid

The "Vehicle Speed Sensor" signal is generated by the transmisson output speed sensor. That is the one located at the rear of the case. It is externally mounted. That supplies "vehicle speed" info to the other On-Board Computers. The input turbine speed sensor is located just behind the bell housing area of the case. I believe the trans controller is the only module that needs that info. The Crank Position Sensor give engine RPM info and it is located on the bell housing near the engine block. I hope this helps.

2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .
