How do I set tappets of a 2.5 diesel turbo mazda

you haven't mentioned if it is a 4 cyl or not. However bring no 1 cylinder up to tdc and watch the tappets of the next cylinder to fire. when that cylinders rockers are in valve overlap situation ( exhaust starting to close and inlet starting to open) then that will be maximum clearance on no 1 cylinder and is when you set the tappets turning the engine until the next cylinder is at TDC watch for the next cylinder again to be in valve overlap and repeat as for no 1 cylinder

Tappet settings for 1980 Hino am100

go on the net or contact your local service dealer, but for most diesels that do not hydraulic tappets the setting standard is .012" inlet hot and .014" exhaust hot. Make sure that the setting is required as tappet noise can be from work rocker bushes and shafts

They should be hydraulic tappets and are self adjusting. If you have a noise check the wear of the rocker bushes and rocker shaft.

How to remove a cylinder head for a 1964 Austin Healey 3000 safe ?

Drain water out of engine . remove the rocker cover . remove the rocker shaft and rocker assembly . lift out the push rods ( check if rods are the same length and if not check that you keep them in the right sequence for reassembly) . remove inlet and exhaust manifold . Undo the head bolts and lift off the head. Search the web for the manual or cruise the used book shops/ libraries for the manual as you will need it for the settings and torque specs.. Austin engines had little change between vehicles up to 1964

How to torque the rocker shaft

name what part of shaft, exactly it's not 1 part.
you working on and engine with no books.
why do that. ???
torque settings and sequences, guessed?
and all the warnings in the book, ,not read, not heeded?
some of the screws are inch lbs. if set over 7 ft/lbs. 85inch/bls.
if set over that you strip out the head threads, dont do that.
get a real FSM, please.
or at the very least login to alldata.com and read the head pages.

the 91 came with many engines, world wide,
no country stated, or worst engine displacement options stated.

Do i torque my rocker arms down on '88 caprice w/307 ? if so what is the torque specs on them

The nut is a self locking nut. so there is no torque spec for them. What you do is set a preliminary clearance with the tappets pumped up, then set final clearance/lash when engine is fired up initially.

The engine is started and allowed to come up to operating temperature- put foil over the hole in the pushrod end of the rocker arm to reduce oil spray, nut is backed out slowly until clatter is heard, and the nut slowly tightened until noise just disappears, then the nut is tightened in 1/4 turn steps until 1 full turn in has been reached. At each 1/4 turn pause, allow engine idle to smooth out before proceeding.

Once all valves are adjusted, you are ready to put the covers back on and finish the rest of the assembly.

For initial set point, when building the engine up, make sure the cam lobe is on the heal (no lift) portion of the cam, and pump up the lifter until significant resistance is felt, and tighten the rocker adjusting nut until you you feel actual resistance to turning the pushrod. move to the next valve.

What are the torque specs for a 1993 6.5 diesel in a gmc truck. I need it for the head bolts and the rail above the valve springs

The head bolts are done in 3 stages: first stage is 20 ft.lbs, second stage is 50 ft.lbs and the third stage is an additional 90 degrees or 1/4 turn. This is the sequence.
14 10 6 2 3 7 11 15
17 9 1 8 16
13 5 4 12
The rail above the valve springs must be the rocker arm shaft. The bolts on it are torqued to 40 ft.lbs. The intake is torqued to 31 ft.lbs. Hope this helps.

i would not worry about torque settings just tighten them down to what feels comfortable to you, this should be OK. it is how i do it, as long as there is not alot of play in them, you should be fine.
