Question about 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab
When my 1997 dodge ram sit for a day it have a slow take off. I have to
increast the rpm to get it to move. After the first take off I don't have that
problem anymore until it has been park for a day.
I also have a 97 Ram that did the same thing. First thing to do is add a trans cooler and remove the rubber lines at the radiator. If you feel the truck takes off in 2nd gear you need to replace the transducer and governor pressure switch inside the trans pan on the pass side of the valve body.

I found that my lower transmission line had a faulty check valve in it and it would drain my torque converter.

Also could be your transmission filter is dirty and need to be changed and flushed with new fluid (8 quarts)

Its the lower cooler line coming from the radiator to your tranny..there is a check valve in the line. Make sure you relace the entire line not just the rubber part.
