I have a creaking,clunking noise on front passenger side of 91 ford escort

    Already took it to a muffler,suspension,exhaust place and they put it up and looked under and said everything looked good even the struts

    Replaced struts and got rid of some of the noise until I noticed that both ends of sway bar were rusted in half.

Try looking at the sway bar link on each side. If they move easily by hand then they likely need to be replaced. You can do a sort of self test by rocking the car up and down at the front fender tire well. If you can hear it clicking when you rock it, it is likely that sway bar link. Good luck!

That noise sounds to me like a Ball Joint problem. I would check to see if you have fittings to grease the front suspention.

on the 97 escort,check the sway bar,also the sway bar links.My daughter has a 97 escort,both sway bar links had to be replaced at 150,000.mi.relatively cheap to & easy to Replace.hope this helps
