If the vehicle has an inertia fuel pump shut off, details of the location will be in the vehicle handbook.
Some early cars didn't have the inertia switch and the fuel pump relay relied on a connection to the oil pressure warning light or ignition light or similar so if the engine stopped so did the fuel pump.
Most inertia switches are fitted behind the passenger footwell plastic kick panel or visibly in the engine compartment. A few early examples were fitted in the spare wheel well.
Inspect the plugs and see if any of them might have a hair line crack on the porcelain and make sure you have your wire routing correct and inspect compression on each cylinder
I don't know a lot about these trucks but I can tell you that somewhere between the spin-on fuel filter and the I.P. (injection pump) is a 1.5" dia X 4" long steel primer. Just under the top of it is a spring. You will need to loosen or open the "Fuel supply line", at the I.P. (going from the filter, to the pump) and manually pump the fuel primer. Continue pumping the fuel primer until diesel flow from the opening. Quickly close off the drain-port or fuel-line, pump the primer a few more times (to increase line pressure and try to start your vehicle. After it starts, check for leaks. Let me know if I can help anymore. Good luck.
get yourself a can of silicon spray, spray the rubber window tracks, that will allow some lubrication to the glass and probably sove your problem. i have to do mine a couple of times ayear
hello, on your passengers side of the engine there is a coolant tank with a cap on it just remove the cap and fill to the full marker on the coolant tank.
Early FJs had a fuel sender with an ohm range of 2.1ohms when full, to 4.5 when half full, to 6.5ohms when empty. Some may range from 33-240 ohms. You should use a VOM (ohm-meter setting) to measure this resistance value at full, empty and half-full positions. Then you will know what gauge to purchase!!! Hope this helps, thanks for using Fixya.com to help solve your issue. Tater Todd
