Re: 2003 nissan maxima 3.5
Is the check engine light on?? i would suspect your crank angle sensor. replace the cam sensors too. nissan had problem(there is a campaign) with those, so they came out with a crank and cam sensor kits. get the kit ( at a dealer ) and install it. actually have your nissan dealer run your VIN number to see if you don't have open campaign for it, if so, they will replace them for FREE. But that's what I would be looking at if one of those came to me to fix.

I had the same problem with my maxima and the alarm I replaced my starter and haven't had any problems with it yet and my alarm is back and up running as we'll so I would start with your starter.... I took mine to the auto parts store tested great because it decided not to act up at the time....but dead again all the sudden.... took starter out it was shot and put in the new one fires up everytime now alarm works great hope this helps
Leave the key in the on position for 10 minutes until the security light stops flashing. Turn the key off and wait 5 sec. If it starts and dies, leave the key on for 10 min. again. You might have to leave the key on 3 times. While you are doing this have a battery charger on it. If the battery goes dead. (You might have the key on for 30 min if you have to do it 3 times the battery might get low) you will have to start all over.
