Ford a/c clutches are one of the easyest to do, meaning to pull of the compressor, all what you have to to, is notice the gap, and remove the center bolt, then remove the front plate by pulling out by hand, and then remove the c clamp, wiht plyers, and pull the pulley out, and reinstall it, that,s all

How to circumvent the a/c clutch pulley on a 2003 ford taurus

On a 3.0 OHV you can not bypass the a/c pulley. You either have to replace the compressor or you can buy a pulley and bracket that takes the place of the a/c compressor. You can find these at your local parts store. You other option is to find a used a/c compressor. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Tryin to tighten the surpentine belt on a 2000 Ford Taurus

Serpentine belts use a spring-loaded tensioner pulley to keep them tight. If the belt is not tight, either it is not routed properly or the tensioner spring is broken. Look for a pulley mounted on an arm by itself, that turns no device such as an air conditioner or pump.

Looking to replace my alternator on a 1999 ford taurus but dont know how to loosen the belt

To loosen the belt use a 15mm socket on the tensioner pulley. Turn clockwise if you have a OHV engine or counterclockwise if your engine is OHC. Turning this bolt will release pressure on the belt allowing you to remove it from the other pulleys. To identify the tensioner pulley it is just above and to the right of your crankshaft.
Hope this was helpful.

How to tension belt

Your car should have a self adjusting system. If the belt is on the pulleys and it's not tight, the tension pulley is seized up or the bearing in the pulley is shot. The best solution is to replace the tension pulley.
