Question about Daihatsu Charade
The oil light is a warning light for oil pressure, not oil amount.
It could me the the pressure sensor has gone bad, or it might be an indication that the oil pump has gone bad.
The best check you can do is tap into an oil gallery port with a pressure tester to get a real reading.
If your oil pump has gone bad, it can cause severe damage to your motor. This is something you do not want to ignore, and have taken care of ASAP.
