Question about 1992 Buick Park Avenue

Trunk won't close.

Sometimes the sensors get out of alignment (I think) and the trunk won't close. Is there a way I can get this problem straightened out without taking it to the shop?

If you slam it closed (or someone else has), it will bend the bracket down so that the closing actuator will not engage nor will the latch. Check to see if its bent down. I had to take mine off and straighten it, as well as using new bolts and washers. then it worked fine.

Check it out!.....On the bottom portion of the latch where deck lid meets the "male portion of the latch....you will see a black, square "flap" of sorts. With one finger, lift up on this flap. Upon doing so, the electric motor will raise receiver back into position, allowing deck lid to be drawn down as it is supposed to.
If, however the system has been damaged, it may be necessary to repair/replace parts before normal operation can resume.

My 2002 buick lesabre makes a bonging noise all the time and won`t quit even when the key is removed and the trunk light stays on as to warn trunk is open

The trunk open/closed sensor may be stuck in the open warning position . Find it and temporarily unplug it to see if the beeping stops .

My trunk will not stay locked

If you have factory alarm on it its is the trunk latch for some reason needs to be adjusted. anything gets packed in the trunk and it was hard to close it will put it out of alignment. I also think its the electrical issues they have.it releases the latch if theres a serge in the system or batterie needs replacement or possibilty and or the alternator have it checked sounds,
Fun nylon but these cars trip out if the power is not all there.

Sometimes the lid get twisted. You can open the lid and with one arm pull down on the side that is up and using the other arm push up, twisting the lid a little. That should level it. There are also rubber stops that turn up and down that help adjust it. But I would try twisting it first since thats how it got missed aligned.

I have a 2004 chevy cavalier and the trunk latch won't click into place and close fully, therefore the trunk won't close fully.

yes that could be the problem. try this putt your key in to the lock and turn it to unlock it , check to see if latch is open ,while still holding the key in the unlock position close the trunk and relock it with the key while pushing down on the hood at the same time. replace the lock when you can .there is no quick fix for this unless u use a bungee cord for it .

It seems that my 2005 Lexus ES330 trunk light won't turn off. How to check whether the trunk light is off when the trunk lid is close?

Remove the bulb if you think it runs the battery down. the switch is part of the latch assembly of the trunk.

Look at the latch on the trunk lid. Sometimes they close. Put your key in it and open it, as you do this take a screwdriver or pen and pull the latch open.

I accidentally pulled the interior trunk release of 2008 volkswag

Try a screw driver, and release the trunk release at the same time and unsnap the latch, the latch thinks it is closed, because the latch never opened back up to allow the striker to go in it and trigger the latch to close, the latch is in closed mode, you will have to manually unlatch the latch sort of speak.

The trunk won't open w/ remote or elct. sw. only

Hello. Chances are that the Unlocking mechanism in the trunk is either out of alignment or broken. Take a close look at it. It is where the trunk lid actually latches and locks. See if it is loose, or bent, or broken.
