My 98 villager did the same thing i changed vehicle speed sensor and now it works . it is located on the transmission you will have to jack up the van , use safety jacks , it is on the rear left side of the tranny look up on top there will be a electrical connector there unplug it and at the bottom of the sensor there is a 10mm bolt holding the sensor in place kinda like a distributer is mounted to the manifold , pull it out of the trans be carefull i broke mine off at the plastic connector, the part of the sensor you are looking to move is the base it is about the size of a silver dollar at the bottom of the sensor, a little heat to the side of the trans where it goes down may aid in the removal ,it is about 3nches long and has a rubber oring around it ,and a speedometer gear at the end of it, lot easier putting in than taking out ,,,good luck

I have a 93 Toyota Camry Le engine 2.2 my speedometer don't work but my miles are marking?

My guess would be the speedometer has failed. Both the speedometer and odometer use the same speed sensor in the transmission.

Speedometer and odmoeter don,t work

Either the cable got disconnected somehow behind the dash, the cable broke, or the plastic gears wore out. If yours is digital check fuses.

I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX sedan and the speedometer just stopped working. My mechanic just put in a transmission that he bought from a junk yard. How do i fix this problem?

I have a 99 accord and my speedometer and odometer did not work. The problem was the VSS vehicle speed sensor. The VSS is located on the transmission. Once I replaced it everything worked fine.

Speedometer don,t work

Depending on whether your speedo is mechanical (uses a cable), or electronic (uses an electrical wire to carry the signal from the sender), I would look it (what's in between the speedo and trans speed sender) before replacing the instrument panel. A good service manual that includes a dash wiring diagram should help trouble shoot this problem.
Good luck.
