It says this for the first 50 cycles, it's normal if you have disconnected it.

Getting p0601 code

Hi I'm Peter, P0601 OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description

Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error
What does that mean? Basically that means that there is an interal fault in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). There have been many reported PCM failures on Chrysler/Dodge products although it is possible for this to happen on any vehicle.
In Dodge/Chrysler products, a P0601 trouble code means that a serial communication failed inside the computer at least 6 times. Symptoms Likely, no symptoms will be discernible to the driver, other than the illuminated Check Engine Light. Typically the engine runs fine, gauges work, etc.
Causes A code P0601 in most cases means the PCM has gone bad. This is possibly due to a short-circuit inside the PCM. Or, if you disconnect the wires/connector from the PCM while the battery is still connected, that may also cause this code.
Possible Solutions With a P0601 OBD-II trouble code, the most common fix is to replace and reprogram the PCM. In a few cases the dealer may be able to reflash the PCM and get it working. But more than likely the PCM will need to be replaced and reprogrammed (we recommend you take it to a dealership for this). The good news is it *may* be covered under your emmissions warranty. So even if you're out of bumper-to-bumper warranty or powertrain warranty, check your warranty guide or dealer to see if this is covered.
Other people have reported that they cleared the code only for it to return again and again. Keep in mind that most shops can replace the PCM but not all can program it. Hope this is what you needed. Let me know how you make out.

tech answer.:
Battery Has Been Disconnected Number of Trips to Set Code: 1
Trouble Code Conditions:
Key on, and the TCM detected that it had been disconnected from the Battery Direct (B+) circuit or its Power Ground circuit. This DTC will also set during the scan tool Quick Battery Disconnect procedure. Note: Due to the integration of the PCM and TCM, the transmission part of the PCM has its own specific power and ground circuits.
Possible Causes:
  • Quick Learn procedure was performed with scan tool
  • TCM battery direct (B+) circuit is open or disconnected
  • TCM power ground circuit is open
  • PCM/TCM was disconnected or it has been replaced
bar room answer.
your battery was dead, or removed, or is was bad.
battery is old and cold starts, allowed it to drop battery voltage way too low, (weak battery, or just too cold out, is this in Klondike?)
left head lights on, and battery drained too low and this code sets.
gal at bar says, what should i do?
answer. sell the car. (nah)
reset the code with an $9 scan tool and drive, see if it comes back.
if comes back and battery seems week. bingo, end of life battery.

P1000 trouble code

means that the OBD-II monitor testing is not complete.

Potential causes of a P1000 include:
The battery or PCM has been disconnected
The diagnostic trouble codes have been cleared

You can ignore this code and it should go away as part of normal driving.

Trouble codes p1684 and p0138 What are they?

What year ,make ,model and engine size is this car, i can give you a generic code answer that should be good. i will assume this is a dodge or chrysler product.po 1684 means that power has been lost to ecm or pcm, if battery was dead or disconnected recently then that is why you have this code, but if it has not then there is a wiring problem, you will need to check the cables, look at positive battery cable and follow it , make sure where cables connect, like a fuse box . make sure connections are good. the next code PO138 means o2 sensor high voltage, this is the sensor after the cat converter, check connector and wiring to sensor , most times it just a bad sensor. good day.

Code 12 1995 dodge spirit 2.5 battery and PCM NOT disconnected. where does the pin 3 on PCM gets its battery suppy voltage from

Has the battery been disconnected or been low on charge in the last 50 ignition cycles?

Code 12 means that battery power has been disconnected within the last 50 ignition cycles. it does not mean there is no battery power to the computer

Pin 3 should be a red/white wire that is the constat power supply to the PCM. It is protected by a fusible link located neer the drivers side strut tower. If that link was bad the car would not start or run as it also supplieds power to the asd relay, fuel pump relay, and the ssd relay.

I would put money on the the problem being igntion (plugs wires cap rotor), compression (low cylinder compression usually cylinders 2 and 3), lack of fuel delivery (low fuel pressure, a weak or dirty injector), timin (timing belt jumped, worn distributor, look exciter ring), or possibly a plugged catalytic converter.

I would check compression first especially cylinders 2 and 3. It was pretty common for the head gasket to fail in between these two cylinders.
