Where is the thermostat located on my 93 Geo prizm?

I need to replace the thermostat, but I think it helpful if I knew where it was.

The thermostat is actually on the bottom radiator hose attached to the driver side of the engine

Normally it is located on the water outlet of the engine .
trace the hose that came out on the top of the radiator and would go to the engine. where it is attached is a manifold that is bolted to the engine, this is also the place where they put the water temp sending unit and the temperature switch. once you remove this piece, the thermostat is being hold by this thing against the engine.

Don't touch this vehicle,the airbag has been deployed and a new whell attached without resetting the code.

Where is the timing belt for a 93 geo prizm located? I just replaced the starter and it sounds like it wants to start but doesn't kick over so i'm thinking that it's the timing belt.


the timming belt is located under a plastic cover on the passenger side of the engine. it's held in place with a few 10 mm bolts
to check timming .set the lower crank pulley on the zero mark befor you remove the covers, to be able to check and see if the belt jumped time

Yes a harmanic balancer from tha corolla is the same thing. I had to do the same thing with my 95 geo. It works out to be a lot cheaper buying for a toyota than a geo.
