Question about 1995 Nissan 240SX
Right in front of the Engine, there will be 3 bolts, one you cant see. I believe 10mm and I usually use 1/4" ratchet set for this.
You need to use Permatex Water Pump and Thermostat housing liquid gasket for this (Pep Boys). there is a little jiggle valve on the new thermostat, make sure it is on top.
the trickier part is replacing the antifreeze. there is a screw (air relief plug) on top of the air outlet that needs to be removed, and the heater house just below the actuator to turn on your heat, but this step is critical, jack up the front of the car to tilt the engine to prevent air bubbles, and fill it slow. Close each of those areas as they start to spill out. otherwise you will have an annoying overheat problem. (which may be why you suspect the thermostat to begin with)

Trace the upper radiator hose to the mounting area on the intake manifold. Loosen the hose clamp on the manifold end of the hose and remove the hose. Pull the thermostat out of the intake manifold.
