Question about Volkswagen Jetta
You may have a bad coil pack - try moving two of them around and see if the misfire follows the coil pack or stays at the same cylinder. If it follows the coil pack, get a new one. If it stays in the same cylinder, inspect your spark plug wires and make sure the plug is gapped correctly.

I have a 2000 vw jetta glx vr6 went through the same issues but on mine after replacing countless things turned out to be two fuel injectors that got water down into the electrical connectors and caused them to fail. an easy way to test this is pull the top intake manifold off and test the injectors for resistance they should come out to about 16 ohms.

I had the same problem with my Glx Vr6 2.8 Jetta 2000, it is forsure the coilpack!!!!!!!!!!
I change ignition wires plus the coilpack and that is it, running good, and already past a year ..........good luck folks
